LEATHER

Leather is a fantastic material in many ways. Beautiful and versatile. Comfortable, breathable and resistant. With time it will develop patina and unique character. By caring for your leather garments, you contribute to sustainable consumption as it will last for several years to come.

The majority of our leather garments are treated with plant-based tannins – vegetable tanned leather. This means that the tanning is made from natural sources such as leafs and bark instead of chromium sulfates. Due to the natural and organic Mimosa bark that is used during production, vegetable tanning is the most environmentally friendly way of producing leather. The tanning makes the material durable, strong and robust – which also means that it will, if cared for, last longer than a lifetime.

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT LEATHER

  • You can press a garment – set the thermostat to silk or wool, press with a dry press towel, the garment must be dry.
  • It is important to know that the lining and other details on a leather jacket do not have the same life span as the jacket itself.

HOW TO STORE LEATHER

When travelling and storing, roll leather garments to avoid fold creases.

Store your garment hanging on a hanger in an airy space – do not use compression bags or vacuum storage. If you do this, your jacket will have the best conditions for a long lifetime.

HOW TO WASH LEATHER

Start by reading through the wash care label. Never wash leather garments in a washing machine. If thorough cleaning is a must, contact a professional leather cleaning specialist.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF LEATHER

  • Clean of spots with a slightly damp cloth.
  • Hang garments to ventilate between wearing but avoid direct sunlight.
  • Always hang a leather garment on a well-fitted hanger. If wet, dry flat in room temperature.
  • Keep leather soft and conditioned with a specialist leather balm. Apply a small amount with a cloth and buff gently.
  • If the garment gets wet – hang on a clothes hanger and dry slowly at room temperature. If the garment feels stiff when it has dried rub leather against leather, brush with a garment brush or dry sponge.
